But I'm really starting to believe that Aljazeera is one of two things: 1) a group of Arabic speaking intellectuals who realized that the Arabic speaking people, being fucked for a very very, VERY long time until today by foreign invaders and local dictatorships, are a group of angry people not capable of independent thinking. It is obvious that what constitutes a great news channel for those depressed people is a channel that tells them what they want to hear: Arab are great.. Muslims and the chosen ones.. you are in fact superior morally and even scientifically to the west.. Yet somehow, you are constantly fucked by the west out of pure jealousy of your superiority... Those intellectuals realized that this is a gold mine... Just tell Arabs what they want to hear, and you will be rich... good luck trying to tell them how things really are in the world.. 2) Same thing, but substitute (Arabic speaking intellectuals) with (Zionists)... This is very unlikely though because this theory, in essence, suggests that Arabs are in fact so dangerous to the projects of the west that such an expensive measure had to be taken.. The only reason that I even consider such a theory is that Arabs may indeed be considered dangerous just out of their sheer numbers... So if you're reading Aljazeera, getting all excited about the fact that Darwinism was finally proven false, wake the *** up... my point is: don't take Aljazeera seriously at all.. I am choosing to not take it as a fact that Hassan Abbas was responsible for withdrawing that Goldstone report.. I am not taking it as a fact that Hosni Mobarak is a traitor.. and that Ardoghan is a Muslim hero... But if someone disagrees please express yourself... I actually dont know what other arab news reporting agencies are saying... I just follow aljazeera.com out of pure entertainment, or sorrow..    Report

10-08-2009, 03:57 AM stalwart Joined on 11-19-2005 Posts 7,887 Re: Aljazeera me other intellectuals in souria.com (ehm ehm) were very shocked at this latest article in aljazeera in which they completely sabotaged the Ardi discovery article and just simply put words in the scientists' mouthes.. pure lies!! this is very unfortunate.. i can no longer trust aljazeera which is a very big deal for me because it was for me the most trusted and credible Arab news agency.. so can we now trust all the documentaries? what about all the news reporting in Iraq and Lebanon and Gaza? that's awful I know all media outlets lie to some extent.. but what aljazeera did was just crossing all boundaries by directly faking the article and rewriting it to suit their audience!!! i guess from now on i will stick with a basket of news agencies (NY Times, Washington Post, The Independent, BBC Arabic)    Report

After the article about darwinism, I sorta started doubting its credibility. I usualy read the news and don't try to verify what they are saying or translating but the recent incident will defintely affect my perception of their work. Maybe they count on the fact that Arabs, in general, don't read or bother question whatever/whoever they believe so they are using this to score some religious points by pumping the creationists with a victory.    Report
