Developing Public and Private Sectors Discussed in Meeting of General Federation of Trade Unions' Council

General Council of the General Federation of Trade Unions called for supporting, reforming and upgrading public sector in addition to increasing the contribution of the private sector to the development process.
Council members, during the 9th session of the Council held Tuesday, called for boosting participatory environment between all sectors to achieve the program of development and reform.
The members underlined the importance of applying the provisions of law No. 17 for 2010 which governs the relationship between workers and employers in the private sector.
Wage increase should cover workers in the private sector in addition to including some private sector's syndicates in worker housing associations just like public sector workers, according to the members.
Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Radwan al-Habib said the mission of employment offices should expand to provide training courses for those enrolled in the offices in addition to finding suitable job opportunities to them.
