)-Minister of Information Adnan Mahmoud said that the Syrian government has committed to the plan of the UN Envoy to Syria Kofi Annan in order to make the monitors' mission a success.

"At the same time, we are waiting for Mr. Annan to take tangible steps towards the armed terrorist groups and take commitments from the states which support and sponsor them to halt violence in Syria," Minister Mahmoud said during a meeting with a delegation of the Syrian community in Italy and a number of Mass media delegates on Wednesday.

He underlined the need for the UN monitors to work in a neutral and just way to observe violations, saying that the escalation of terrorist acts in Syria requires the international community to help combat terrorism instead of backing it.

The Minister pointed out to the importance of contacting with the objective media and cultural elites abroad to break the unilateral vision in their dealing with the events in Syria.

"Syria has given 114 visa entries to media institutions from different states since the agreement on Annan's plan on March 25th.. the challenge that faces them is to offer a balanced objective vision, away from political relations," Minister Mahmoud said.

He added that the armed terrorist groups escalated their terror, recording 1930 violations since April 12th, perpetrating massacres, killing, kidnapping and assassinations against civilians and law enforcement members, backed by the US, some western and Arab states including Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

In a statement to SANA, Journalist Matthew Barnaby said that the foreign media coverage of the events in Syria is not objective, away from reality and depend on not confidential sources.

Political Activist Jean Antonio Valy said that what is happening in Syria is part of a universal plot, the first of its series was Tunisia and the destruction of Libya.
